Water Color

Water color painting is a great, easy cure for the urge to paint. You can paint for a few minutes or for a few hours. It's easy to clean up and easy to set up. For me, painting is like therapy. If I'm in a bad mood, I'll just paint until I feel better.

Chocolate Raspberry Mousse

I recently found an awesome recipe for chocolate mousse frosting that looked amazing (Chocolate Mousse Frosting). I changed the recipe up a little by adding raspberries and sugar. It turned out great! If you love coconut, chocolate, and raspberries, then this is a dessert you won't be able to resist.

Chocolate Raspberry Mousse

  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup of sugar (more or less depending on how sweet you want it)
  • 1 1/3 cup of Raspberries

1) Stir the coconut milk, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and sugar together in a bowl
2) Heat 1 cup of raspberries until warm/hot and strain them, only getting the raspberry juice.
3) Add the raspberry juice to the rest of the mixture
4) Put the mixture in the fringe for 1 to 2 hours (until hard on top)
5) Add 1/3 cup of fresh or frozen raspberries to the mousse
6) Put the mousse in an ice cream maker for around 30 min (it gets hard fast, so keep an eye on it)
(If you don't have an ice cream maker, put the mousse back in the fridge for a few more hours until it's the consistency you prefer.)

Once the mousse is done, top it off with some whipped cream and enjoy. I even put some raspberry jam on top of mine. If you aren't a big fan of raspberries you can just not add them. Next time I make it, I plan on trying peanut butter instead of raspberries.

Oil Pastel Hair Color

So my amazing friend and I decided to do a little experiment today. I've seen a lot of people who rub oil pastels on their hair to color it. Seems like a cool idea, right? So I tried it. It worked pretty well and I will definitely try it again.

Cute and Cozy

I knitted a mug cozy and a fish bowl cozy! Philip totally loves his fish bowl cozy!

Peanut Pad Thai

After a bit of experimenting, my Mom and I came up with the perfect Peanut Pad Thai recipe. It has been my family's favorite dish since we first made it. It's actually easy to make and is extremely delicious.

Peanut Sauce

1/2 cup and 1 tablespoon and 2 teaspoons rice wine vinegar
1/2 cup and 1 tablespoon and 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup and 2 teaspoons soy sauce
1/4 cup and 2 teaspoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons and 1/2 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root
2 tablespoons and 1-1/4 teaspoons minced garlic
2 tablespoon Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce (optional)
2 tablespoons Sanbal Oelek Ground Fresh Chili Sauce (optional)

I found this sauce recipe (originally meant for Asian Coleslaw) at this website: allrecipes.com
I changed the recipe a little by adding the Sriracha sauce and the ground fresh chili.

After the Peanut Sauce....

1) Finely chop 2 or 3 cups of red or green cabbage
2) Finely chop 1 or 2 tablespoons of cilantro
3) Fry 2 eggs in a pan with some of the fresh chili sauce
4) Stir fry shrimp or beef
5) Cook rice noodles (bring water to a boil, let noodles sit in hot water until soft, drain and rinse noodles with cold water immediately)
6) Add all the ingredients together in a pan or bowl and mix together. I typically don't use all of the sauce.
7) Sprinkle chopped peanuts and cilantro on the top and enjoy.

In the pictures below, I made a vegetarian pad thai which is just as delicious!

I Mustache You a Question.

Why are mustaches so popular right now? To tell you the truth, I have no idea how the mustache craze began. I even did some research but came up empty handed. I will confess that I have fallen prey to the mustache obsession and I am the proud owner of many mustache products. From paper clips to socks, they are every where.
