Teatime Thursday

What's dreamier than a coconut cream chai latte and a fuzzy blanket?

Happy Thursday!

Teatime Series

Since I review tea, I drink tea ALL the time. I don't like whipping up my tea and throwing it in any old mug. I carefully make my tea and I make sure it looks pretty. My whole tea making process has inspired a new photography series I'm calling Teatime.

Here's a taste of the pictures to come!

Blue Chai

This Herbal Blue Chai was probably the weirdest tea I've ever had.

Check out Blue Chai's website here: https://bluechai.com

I will post the link to my tea review as soon as it is published.

Oh and did I mention this tea changes to purple when you add lemon?

Hand-painted Teacup

I recently went to a place with my friend and we painted our very own teacups! I absolutely love how they turned out.

This morning I enjoyed my gluten-free lemon bars and Spicely Tulsi Chai in my new teacup.

Can I take a moment just to explain to you how amazing this Tulsi Chai tea is?
It is caffeine-free yet a very rich and smooth brew. Also, the list of health benefits is amazing.

Tulsi is stress-relieving, aids restful sleep, aids digestion, helps with headaches, helps maintain healthy eyesight, can prevent kidney stones, improves the immune system, helps prevent colds, fights gum disease, helps with bad breath, and the list goes on!

I'm going to start drinking a cup of this every day before bed. It not only has amazing health benefits but tastes lovely!

Hazelnut Chai Mocha

Most people think mixing tea and coffee would be disastrous. I'm pretty sure this drink proves all the critics wrong. The rich, spicy chai and bitter coffee blend beautifully in this hazelnut chai mocha! If you are lover of coffee AND tea then this is a must-try!

Hazelnut Chai Mocha

1 mug of coffee (about 1 cup)
2 cups of milk
2 T sugar
1 1/2 T cocoa powder
2 teaspoons vanilla
pinch of salt
2 T hazelnut chai tea
whipped cream (homemade or store bought)
hazelnut chocolate the shave on top (optional)

(I used Argo Hazelnut Chai Tea. This tea isn't available online but you can buy other amazing chai teas here: http://mychaidiaries.com )

1) Brew a mug of coffee

2) Heat the coffee and milk in a sauce pan until it steams
(medium heat)

3) Measure out the chai into a tea infuser

 4) Mix in the sugar, cocoa, vanilla, and salt. Stir until these ingredients dissolve.

5) Put the tea infuser (containing the tea) into the sauce pan. Let it steep in the milk for about five minutes. Strain the mocha mixture into cups/mugs.

6) Add whipped cream and shave the chocolate on top

Chocolate Chai Tea Recipe

While we were on our trip in Colorado, we met some friends at an adorable tea house. We ordered chocolate chai tea and it was delicious. Due to the cold and cloudy weather, I was craving this yummy drink all day. I decided to re-create this drink and share the recipe with you all. Plus I was dying to use my new tea cup I bought in Old Colorado City.

Chocolate Chai Tea (for 2)

3 cups of milk (I used almond milk)
1 1/2 Tablespoons of vanilla
2 Tablespoons of sugar
2 Tablespoons of cocoa powder
Pinch of salt
2 chai tea bags

1) Mix all the ingredients (except tea bags) together in a pot on the stove (medium heat)
2) Once the mixture is hot, pour into a tea pot and add the chai tea bags
3) Let the tea bags seep for 5 minutes and then enjoy!
