Knitted Shawl

I'm attempting to knit a shawl....for the first time...and I have to finish it in a week. I'm a little worried but I'm hopeful that it will turn out pretty. I'm wearing it with a turquoise and gold dress for Spring Fling (my school's prom). Here's what I've gotten done after an hour of knitting.
